Payments for City Services

Payments for taxes, utility bills, and the majority of City services are handled through the City Treasurer.

Making In-Person Payments
In addition to in-person payments, payments can be mailed to the Treasurer’s office at the noted address, or there is a payment drop box located on the north side of City Hall.  Payments placed in the drop box by 5:00 p.m. on the due date for the bill or invoice will be receipted as timely payments.
 

  

Note: When using the Online Payment option, your internet browser should be at version 8 or higher for Internet Explorer and version 6 or higher for Firefox.

Utility Payments
Additional information regarding utility bill payments, including our Automatic Payment Program, can be found here.  If you would like to pay your utility bill online, click on the payment button above.  A service fee is charged by the credit card service provider.  The dollar amount of the payment may be limited by the service provider, due to processing fees.

Property Tax Payments
If you would like to pay your property tax bill online, you can do so using the Waukesha County online payment system at www.waukeshacounty.gov.  Click on the link to Pay Your Taxes Online.  Please note that there is a 3% service fee for credit card payments and a $1.00 service fee for electronic checks.

Payment for Licenses and Permits
Payments for dog licenses, yard waste hauling permits, recycling bins, cigarette and vending machine licenses, and all alcohol-related licenses (liquor and bartenders) are handled by the City Clerk’s office. The Clerk’s office can be reached at – (262) 796-6653 or via Email.

Payments for Building and Related Permits
Payments for building and related permits are made to Inspection Services in City Hall. Questions regarding payments for building and related permits should be directed to Inspection Services at – (262) 796-6646 between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Payments for Court Fines – Traffic and Municipal Citations
Payments of court fines for traffic and municipal citations are accepted at the Police Department in the Public Safety Building. Questions regarding court fines should be directed to the Municipal Court at – (262) 796-6660.

Payments for Library Fines and Fees
Payments for library past due charges and/or lost materials are only handled in person at the Circulation Desk at the Brookfield Public Library.  Payment types accepted include cash or check.  Library Location, Hours, and Phone

Payments for Parks and Recreation Services
Payments for recreation programs and reservations of park facilities are made payable to the Parks, Recreation and Forestry department.  Questions should be directed to Parks, Recreation and Forestry at 262-796-6675.

Acceptable Forms of Payment
Payment types accepted for City services currently include cash or check, with the exception of court fines, utility bill and real estate tax bill payments made online, for which Visa or MasterCard also are accepted.
